Here is my design for the next costume in the works (and also my first historical gown). I will be portraying Katheryn of Berain at the Siouxland Faire with this costume. Hopefully I can get it all done in time!
Birthday Tidings
It has come to my attention that several of my characters are celebrating (or not celebrating, depending on their customs) a birthday this week. Curious that they all have a birthday on the same day, isn't it? Fenwik, my imp friend, will also be having a birthday soon. I do not remember the exact date, but it is sometime in June. I will have to ask him.
On another note, Rowan the Woodland Faerie (she has a name now!) made an appearance last weekend at the Midwest Renaissance Festival in Omaha. She had much fun playing with children, catching bubbles, dancing, and imitating pirates (although I'm not sure the pirates knew...hee hee) She is looking forward to next weekend when she can have fun at the Midwest Faire again!
In the meantime I am working on yet another costume, which will be for the Siouxland Ren Faire in June. This will be my first appearance at the Siouxland Faire and my first ever traditional character/costume. I will be portraying Katheryn of Berain, a Welsh heiress. And I have about three weeks to make a full gown and Spanish farthingale! Wish me luck!
